Jim Connor - "The Traveling Trustee"
"Dynamic - Fun - Knows what it's all about - Straight talking." These are some of the responses we get from evaluations across the country. Jim has been nicknamed 'The Traveling Trustee' by his colleagues because of his extensive travel for Leadership Institutes, workshops and keynote presentations.
Jim's experience includes private business, Chamber of Commerce executive positions in both local and the U.S. Chamber. He published a weekly newspaper for ten years and has served in various leadership roles within his community.
Jim served as a Trustee for the Jefferson County Colorado Public Library (Colorado) for several years. Other state and national library groups have asked Jim to serve on advisory boards and appointed him to leadership roles within those organizations. Jim has received awards for his work with trustee boards, such as the 2005 ALA Trustee Citation.
These experiences have led him to a post-retirement career working with public library boards with a focus on the Rural/Small library systems presenting workshops and institutes on board orientation, policy development, community leadership development and board/director relationships among others.
